Paudie Collins Rhino Roofing

Paudie Collins BSc CE, Managing Director

After qualifying with a BSc in Construction Economics in 1997, Paudie joined SIAC Roofing and Cladding and cut his teeth on the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre project in Dublin. He went on to work on numerous prestigious schemes throughout the country, developing a network of main contractors in the process, and working his way up to the role of Contracts Manager. Some of the more memorable Dublin projects include Wyeth Medica (now Pfizers), Interxion, Microsoft and DCU. Major assignments in Cork also appear on his CV. Mahon Point Shopping Centre, Pfizers, Novartis, Smithkline Beecham, and Centocor to name a few.

In 2010 Paudie took up a position with the Byrne Group in London as a Construction & Logistics Assistant Manager on the Paddington Crossrail project. Overcoming the unique challenges posed by such a high-profile, large-scale enterprise proved to be very informative and rewarding.

Paudie now takes his store of knowledge and experience, gleaned from 20 years in the construction industry, to his Rhino Roofing & Cladding venture. A company that he hopes will become renowned for its attention to detail, exacting safety standards and an ability to deliver on time for clients.

Pat Ahern BSc QS, Commercial Director

Pat has vast experience in the building industry since qualifying as a Quantity Surveyor in 1976. He spent the early part of his career on construction and civil engineering projects all over the UK and Ireland and in the late 1980s joined the management team of SIAC’s Roofing and Cladding division. He was appointed general manager in 1995 and under his watch the company flourished to become the most successful roofing and cladding business in Ireland. Their impressive portfolio of work includes Sheremetyevo Airport (Moscow), Liffey Valley Shopping Centre (Dublin), North Main Street Shopping Centre (Cork), as well as numerous pharmaceuticals plants, distribution centres and schools through out the country.

Pat’s abilities were recognised within the SIAC organisation. He was appointed the MD of SIAC Butler Steel in 2004 and later nominated to the company’s board of directors. He also performed the role of Operations Director of the sub-contracting division, overseeing many joint-venture operations, both at home and overseas. These included prestigious projects such as the Aviva Stadium (Dublin) and Intel in Israel.

Pat now brings his wealth of knowledge and experience to the Commercial Director’s role within Rhino Roofing & Cladding.
